AWM has been serving industry with health and safety support since 1985.

Our personnel bring to our audit team health and safety experience from a wide range of industry. We follow the same principals that we adhere to in our ISO 14001 Registration Services. AWM does not use contractors to perform our audits. This assures strict control over the training and competence of our auditors, and assures you that our auditors are trained to a standard of auditing by which you can expect the same audit technique during each visit.

The OHSAS 18001 standard is intended to establish auditable standards for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving a Health and Safety Management System. OHSAS 18001 is intended to be compatible with ISO 14001, and is almost identical to ISO 14001 in its auditable elements.

The OHSAS 18001 standard is not currently recognized by the International Organization for Standardization, and thus, no U.S. Accrediting Bodies govern auditing to the standard. Nonetheless, the standard is internationally recognized and well-respected. Many industries have already merged health and safety with their environmental management systems or are beginning to. Conformance auditing and certification to these recognized management systems, by a third party certification body, assures credibility of the programs and periodic evaluation to ensure maintenance and continued improvement.
